Sacraments
First Reconciliation is celebrated on the last Saturday of January at 9:30 with a prayer service. First Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of May at the 10:30 Mass. Confirmation is celebrated in the early spring on a Saturday at 11:00 am at the Cathedral. Our young people must participate in the preparation program according to the diocesan and our parish’s guideline.

education
Religious Education and Youth Ministry meets the third Sunday of September thru the last Sunday of April from 9:00-10:15 am in the undercroft of the church. Kindergarten through grade eight is divided into three groups. We use the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies Faith Formation Program which flows from the words of Jesus Christ in the Sunday Gospels. Children learn their faith—including formation in doctrine, sacraments, commandments, and prayer—within the rhythms and seasons of the Liturgical Year, encouraging a growing participation in the life of the parish community.
Kindergarten – grade 3 uses Good News
Grade 4 – grade 6 uses Venture
Grades 7 and 8 uses Vision.

ministry
Youth Ministry meets every other Sunday beginning the third Sunday of September thru the last Sunday of April 9:00-10:15 am. The group meets in the choir room in the undercroft. Youth ministry is grades 9-12. This group of young adults spends time praying together and sharing faith with each other. They volunteer their assistance with many activities that Purple Cat offers.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
Formal instruction begins in September and meets every Sunday from
9:00-10:15. Catechumens will receive full communion in and with the church during the Easter Vigil Mass.
